Throttle Hills: hills, jumps and real physics, coming soon to Google Play

Throttle Hills is Innovatek Software's newest app: a 2D driving game where physics, throttle control and handling in the air are what count. It is in testing on Google Play and will be available to everyone soon. Here is what it offers.

Gas, brake and real physics

Every track is a run of climbs, descents and jumps. You drive with two pedals, and using them well is the difference between a clean landing and a rollover. Fuel is limited: you pick up fuel cans along the way and need to reach the finish before the tank runs dry. In a race you face three computer-controlled rivals; in endless mode you keep going as far as you can, with tougher hills and fewer fuel cans the further you drive. Nitro, perfect starts and bonuses for air time and flips reward precise driving, and a Jump button gets you moving again when the vehicle is stuck. Each track awards up to three stars, and missions and daily rewards give you a reason to come back.

25 vehicles and 16 tracks

You start with a city car and work up to an electric hypercar, by way of a golf cart, pickup, 4x4 jeep, '60s classic, rally car, van, SUV, muscle car, police car, dune buggy, school bus, monster truck, quad, sports coupé, hot rod, tractor, dump truck, dirt bike, trophy truck, fire truck, supercar, Formula racer and moon rover. Every vehicle has a realistic spec sheet — power, top speed and weight — its own horn, and three upgrades: engine, suspension and gearbox. There are 16 tracks: green hills, autumn woods, snowy mountains, sunset canyons, a volcano, a tropical beach, a Mayan jungle, a sunset village, the arctic aurora, desert dunes, a night forest, a cherry blossom hill and the Moon, where low gravity stretches every jump. Three of them are Stunt tracks — Stunt Park, Big Air and Sky Bridges — built around ramps, gaps and elevated bridges.

Your car, with your photo

In the workshop every vehicle can be customised from top to bottom: 16 paint colours with gloss, metallic, pearl or chrome finishes, 12 liveries — stripes, flames, camo, checker, carbon and more — in any accent colour, 6 rim styles in 8 colours and neon underglow. On top of that there is a personal sticker: a photo from your phone's gallery or a line of text, such as a name or a number of up to 12 characters, with adjustable shape, size and position. Photos are chosen through the system photo picker, so the game asks for no storage permission.

Online leaderboards and cloud save

With Google Play Games your results go into three online leaderboards — endless-mode best, total stars and wins — and your progress is saved to the cloud, so unlocked vehicles, customisations and coins follow you to a new phone. You do not need to create an account to play. The game is available in 12 languages and shows speeds and distances in metric or imperial units.

Free, with a one-time Premium

Throttle Hills is free to download and play. Rewarded videos are optional and give extra rewards; a full-screen ad may appear between races. If you prefer, a one-time Premium purchase at €4.99 unlocks every vehicle and every track, removes the ads between races and grants video bonuses instantly, without watching. No subscription.

Coming soon to Google Play

Throttle Hills is in testing on Google Play and will be released for Android soon. In the meantime you will find it among our apps with a “Soon” badge: as soon as the listing is public, the button will take you straight to the store.
